A PRIVILEGED LOCATION

A GENEROUS TERROIR

Of the REY’s family’s 105 hectares, 70 hectares vineyards are located on the hills overlooking the Gironde Estuary, whilst the other 35 hectares consist of natural spaces : woods, meadows and coppices which help to preserve the biodiversity in our vineyard.

The vineyard of the Domain benefits from a microclimate due to the proximity of the estuary and of the south and south west exposure of the hills, from 65 to 100 meters high. This favoured geographic situation protects the vineyard from spring frost and autumn fog.

Three generations are already working together, and their only aim is to do better and the best every year, by putting together tradition and latest technologies.

This « family promise » is the consumer’s assurance of quality wines now and in the future.

The top of the hills of the domain consist of a clay and gravel soil which is perfect for red grapes like cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc and malbec. On the sides of the hills, clay-limestone and silt soils favour merlot grapes.

The white varieties (Sauvignon and Colombard) enjoy well-drained sandy soils which are situated in the valleys.

White grape varieties delight in well-drained sands.
